Refund & Returns Policy
Overview
Eduformium is committed to delivering high-quality professional learning experiences and advanced instructional tools for educators, trainers, and learners across the African continent. This Refunds, Returns, and Credit Wallet Policy explains the conditions under which refunds may be granted for course purchases and virtual token (Credit) top-ups made on the Eduformium platform.
This policy must be read alongside Eduformium's Terms and Conditions. By purchasing a course, subscribing to a plan, or buying virtual credits for the Eduformium Lesson Planner or Timetable Generator, you explicitly agree to the terms outlined herein.
Nature of Digital Products and Virtual Assets
Eduformium provides purely digital educational content, SaaS (Software as a Service) utilities, and virtual tokens. Because digital courses are intangible and accessible immediately after purchase, strict usage metrics apply to refund considerations. Credits used to power the Lesson Planner and Timetable Generator are immediate-access utility tokens. Eduformium does not sell physical items; therefore, traditional physical product return frameworks do not apply.
Eduformium Credit and Virtual Wallet System
Eduformium utilises an internal virtual currency ("Credits") to meter and power premium generations on the Eduformium Lesson Planner and the Eduformium Timetable Generator. Each application maintains its own independently priced Credit packages and free daily generation allowance.
3.1 Credit Packages and Pricing
Credit packages are purchased in fixed bundles, with one Credit deducted per premium generation. Package sizes, prices in Ghana Cedis (GHS), and any bundle savings are displayed within each application at checkout and may differ between the Lesson Planner and the Timetable Generator to reflect their respective computational costs. The pricing and package sizes shown within the application at the time of purchase are the authoritative and binding terms of that purchase; this Policy and the Terms and Conditions govern the rules under which Credits are used and refunded, not the specific prices themselves. Eduformium reserves the right to modify Credit package sizes, pricing, free daily generation allowances, or bundle savings at any time. Such changes apply only to purchases made after the revised pricing is published within the relevant application and do not affect Credits already purchased or held in a user's balance.
3.2 Non-Refundability of Spent Credits
Credits represent a direct transactional exchange for AI-driven computational assets. Once a user initiates a request in the Lesson Planner or Timetable Generator and Credits are deducted from their account balance, those Credits are considered consumed. No refunds, cash-outs, or balance reversals will be issued for successfully generated lesson items or timetables.
3.3 Unused Credit Bundles
Purchases of Credit packages are final. In alignment with Section 49 of the Electronic Transactions Act of Ghana, because the virtual wallet is provisioned and credited to the user's account instantly upon payment confirmation, unused Credit balances cannot be redeemed, converted, or refunded back into physical cash or Mobile Money balances. Credits hold zero cash value outside of the Eduformium platform and are strictly non-transferable between distinct user accounts.
3.4 Promotional and System-Awarded Credits
Any credits distributed freely via promotional campaigns, beta testing rewards, referral bonuses, or platform compensation milestones have an explicit cash value of GHS 0.00 and are completely exempt from any refund or compensation frameworks.
3.5 Pan-African Transactions and Regional Currencies
While Eduformium's primary accounting is anchored in the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS), the Platform accepts native payments from designated African partner states. Educators from other African nations may settle invoices using their respective local sovereign currencies, including:
- Nigerian Naira (NGN)
- Liberian Dollar (LRD)
- Sierra Leonean Leone (SLE)
- CFA Franc (XOF)
- Kenyan Shilling (KES)
- Ugandan Shilling (UGX)
- Tanzanian Shilling (TZS)
- Rwandan Franc (RWF)
- South African Rand (ZAR)
- Zambian Kwacha (ZMW)
- Botswana Pula (BWP)
3.5.2 Conversion and Processing Surcharges
When a user initiates a transaction outside of Ghana, the real-time exchange rate is managed automatically at checkout by Eduformium's pan-African payment processors (e.g., Paystack or Flutterwave) or the user's local mobile money institution. Eduformium does not control and is not liable for cross-border settlement fees, local carrier billing surcharges, or micro-transaction fees levied by regional telcos.
3.5.3 Intra-Africa Refund Exchange Risk
In the rare event that an international African transaction requires a reversal under the strict terms of Section 4, the settlement will be calculated and pushed from Eduformium's systems based on the exact Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) valuation at the original second of purchase. Eduformium assumes zero responsibility for any discrepancies caused by currency devaluations or market fluctuations between the date of purchase and the date of refund processing.
Course Purchase Refund Eligibility
4.1 Standard Refund Window
Pursuant to the consumer protection directives of Ghanaian electronic commerce guidelines, a learner may request a refund within 7 calendar days from the date of course purchase only under the following conditions:
- The course content exhibits significant deviations from its public description.
- Critical technical system errors prevent the user from accessing the course, and Eduformium Support cannot resolve the issue within 72 hours of a formal report.
Refund requests submitted after the 7-day window will be automatically rejected.
4.2 Course Usage Limitation
A course purchase is entirely non-refundable if any of the following metrics are met:
- The learner has accessed, viewed, or completed more than 20% of the course content.
- The learner has downloaded or exported proprietary instructional materials where downloads are enabled.
- The learner has been issued a certificate of completion for the course.
4.3 Duplicate Purchases and Billing Faults
Full refunds will be issued if a processing error causes a duplicate charge or an accidental double-purchase of the exact same course, provided the claim is submitted within 7 calendar days.
Final Non-Refundable Situations
For the avoidance of doubt, refunds will not be granted under any circumstances involving:
- Laptop, mobile device, or internet connectivity issues arising from the user's local network provider within their respective African country.
- Failure to use purchased Lesson Planner or Timetable Generator Credits before their designated account expiration dates, if applicable.
- Courses or Credit bundles acquired using promotional discount codes, affiliate coupons, or flash sale events.
- Dislike of AI instructional styles or variations in individual learning paces.
Instructor Revenue and Affiliate Adjustments
When a course refund is legally mandated or approved by corporate discretion, the associated instructor's revenue share balance will be automatically reversed. Any active affiliate or referral commissions tied directly to the transaction will be nullified. If payouts have already been remitted to the instructor's bank account or Mobile Money wallet, Eduformium reserves the right to deduct the refunded sum from any future accrued platform earnings.
Chargebacks, Mobile Money Disputes and Account Suspensions
Eduformium actively monitors payment gateways for fraudulent chargebacks. If a user initiates an arbitrary chargeback dispute via their financial institution or Mobile Money provider without first seeking mediation through Eduformium Support, Eduformium reserves the right to immediately freeze or permanently terminate the user's account.
Upon account suspension, all active course enrollments, downloaded assets, and remaining Lesson Planner and Timetable Generator Credit balances will be locked pending official legal or regulatory review.
Processing Timelines and Modalities
All formal refund applications are thoroughly audited by our compliance team within 5 business days of receipt. Approved refunds will be issued exclusively back to the original channel of payment, for example the specific Mobile Money wallet or regional bank card used at time of purchase. Final credit updates depend entirely on local bank clearing cycles and regional telecom settlement timelines, usually reflecting within 5 to 10 business days. Eduformium assumes no liability for external processing delays.
How to File an Official Request
To request an evaluation, users must contact the support infrastructure with verifiable transactional evidence:
- Full Account Name
- Registered Email Address
- Detailed Transaction Receipt including Gateway Reference or Mobile Money Transaction ID
- A precise explanation of the system or course fault
Jurisdictional Authority
This policy is constructed under, interpreted by, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana (Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 and Data Protection Act, 2012). Any unresolved structural disputes arising from this policy shall be settled exclusively via the alternative dispute resolution paths established in the main Eduformium Terms and Conditions, with final legal venues located in Accra, Ghana.
